mad respect for the remix team, at the time this was a good option and no major regrets, they've moved the needle for fullstack frameworks. but man, the tradeoffs are not that great for complex apps, and we (and many people i've talked to) just start moving everything to trpc

the rest of remix is fine and good, the upgrade path stuff has been mostly good, i like not having a opinion about react server components. but "show a toast when this form submission is successful" should be a 5 minute task, not two hours

it would be a bad engineering decision but i am so tempted to switch to tanstack start from remix for val town, the remix actions system is so opinionated and the opinions it holds are bad
