this has been my feeling about vscode since the beginning and it is being vindicated bigtime right now with the crackdown on forks and access to extensions
my mental model with microsoft has been that it is a company staffed by good people that is nevertheless permanently evil because of a pact with the devil made decades ago and to view everything that comes out of it with the maximum skepticism
i wonder if typescript becoming a go native binary will open the door to microsoft making a closed source distribution and/or addons
