Reorder channels to fit whatever organization your team needs—no more prepending `!` to channel names to force them to the top of your channels list.
Zed's native debugger isn't the only thing we shipped during this week's release. Let's check out some of the other highlights of v0.191. We added a `--diff` flag to the `zed` CLI tool:
We've made some improvements to previews, like better grouping and optimized downloads 👉 community.tuist.dev/t/preview-gr...
If you haven't taken Tuist Previews for a spin, this might be a good time as any 😉 There was a long-running bug in Xcode when lldb would often just outright not work due to "type for self cannot be reconstructed". Love to see that beta of Xcode 26 seems to fix that: github.com/tuist/tuist/...
Whoever worked on that, thanks 💜 ⏯️ You can now start and stop local Prisma Postgres instances directly via the VS Code UI.
💡 This enables you to develop with Prisma Postgres locally instead of using a remote DB. Free of charge, no Docker, no authentication — simply Postgres!

www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLw3... #ZedEditor A monumental amount of time and energy was put into shipping this feature, and we can't thank Remco and Anthony enough for kicking the whole thing off. The work on the debugger perfectly embodies the beauty of open source software and how phenomenal the Zed community is.
The PR was merged into main on March 18th, 2025, under a staff-only feature flag, and since then, the Zed team has merged hundreds of PRs to squash bugs, update UI, and add additional features.
While the Zed team was building out other editor primitives, Remco Smis began working on the initial implementation of the debugger, and was later joined by Anthony Eid. The `Debugger implementation` PR contains 977 commits, touches 156 files, and adds nearly 26k LOC.
The desire for a debugger in Zed grew into our most upvoted issue ever. Today, the issue has accumulated 2143 👍s. Nothing but respect to `console.log()` warriors, but engineers clearly wanted to be able to line-by-line step through their software and inspect state.
🤖 PlanetScale with Prisma ORM is a popular database choice among AI companies with heavy workloads.
To ensure optimal performance for these situations, we added new attributes to the Prisma schema, enabling devs to specify shard keys on Prisma models!

They use Prisma ORM! 🚀

The runners a service model is not only great for customers, but will unlock more financially accessible and productized macOS runners.
In true Zed style, the Debugger exists because our community made it happen. Special thanks to Remco and Anthony for all their work on this. What a PR! github.com/zed-industri...
