yeah, we had sentry's SentryPropagator in there that was taking in the baggage header, removing that fixes this for the backend. wrote up the thing macwright.com/2025/12/22/s... typescript on both sides. (react router 7). just set tracePropagationTargets: [] in the ~tenth attempt today to get sentry to stop doing what it seems to be dead-set on doing
see also irgun…
i appreciate that they wanted to expand the product to apm but doing it in a way that is super hard to turn off and constantly breaks other tools and ships a ton of extra deps has been a huge downgrade for me.
this is today's mystery only though, total time debugging sentry/otel this year is easily in the multiple days range
still kind of a mystery but what i'm starting to suspect is that sentry on the frontend sends a trace-id with fetch requests, which sentry on the backend uses as a trace.parent_id in opentelemetry, but then if you aren't doing frontend otel, that causes all my spans in hny to have missing parents
Build an agent that summarizes form submissions as they come in.
❌ No manual review needed.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fe33... i want a product that's just like sentry except it has zero involvement in opentelemetry at all
Week off, so I dove into approachable Swift concurrency after years of postponing.
Thanks to @massicotte.org's impressive work + coding agents for analogies, I built mental models and made: https://fuckingapproacha...

Netlify gives you the primitives to ship workflows like this.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7J-... Submitted a proposal for swift-build: external telemetry service integration via Unix sockets. No new dependencies, opt-in via env var, and compatible with OpenTelemetry backends like Jaeger and Zipkin.
https://forums.swift.org... Just submitted a talk proposal for Swift FOSDEM on how AI agents could become build copilots with the right structured data from swift-build. Fingers crossed 🤞

pris.ly/guide/nuxt-... amen. it's hard being a person who has actually read the book
the 'abundance movement' is a weird big-tent thing that's easy to characterize in a number of ways but it is also a movement formed around a book, which is quite short and easy to read!
all right i'll lose my mind over this but as someone who has actually read abundance (the book) in full, i can report that the book spends five paragraphs on ceqa and all of them are about the law being used by nimby groups and none of them are about the law being used by environmentalists
