I wish more people knew about Mise and Mise tasks. Contributors to open source repos could just run "mise run" to discover what workflows are available. A simple, consistent developer experience across any project.

i appreciate that they wanted to expand the product to apm but doing it in a way that is super hard to turn off and constantly breaks other tools and ships a ton of extra deps has been a huge downgrade for me.

this is today's mystery only though, total time debugging sentry/otel this year is easily in the multiple days range

still kind of a mystery but what i'm starting to suspect is that sentry on the frontend sends a trace-id with fetch requests, which sentry on the backend uses as a trace.parent_id in opentelemetry, but then if you aren't doing frontend otel, that causes all my spans in hny to have missing parents

i want a product that's just like sentry except it has zero involvement in opentelemetry at all
