ICANN's gTLD application window closed last night and bigger-than-2012 (last round) stuff is already happening
lfg.link applied for 316, more than anyone in 2012 (it'll cost $71 million in application fees alone!)

Google's Gemini 3.7 Flash is now available in Netlify AI Gateway and Agent Runners.
Google built this one for coding and agent work, so point an Agent Runner at it and go. There are no API keys to manage.

The more you build, the more you learn. Maya shares how Netlify has helped her pick up technical concepts while connecting with a community that's ready to help along the way.
i missed the drama, the color accessibility drama
maybe i'm naive but the next time i rent an apartment if i'm asked to pay an illegal brokers fee… i'll do it, report the broker, get the fee back and keep the apartment?
We love getting to hang out with the @syntax.fm crew! ❤️
@nathansobo.bsky.social joined @wesbos.com and @tolin.ski to dig into why we built Delta, coding with humans and agents, and why we’re building in Rust with our own UI framework.

An agent that survives a demo and an agent that survives production are two different animals. Matt Biilmann is talking about that gap at Scalekit's DevTools demo night in SF on Aug 19, in a fireside chat on Agent Runners.

If all you’re interested in is fuzzy searching locally, there’s a bunch of projects that predate Atuin. Literally built Atuin because I needed one that synced to the “private cloud” lol McFly, resh, zsh-histdb, hstr to name a few

pleasant update to my post from 2019 about color contrast standards being kind of bad: there's a candidate for wcag 3.0 standards that's a big improvement. via @rubenerd.bsky.social macwright.com/2019/03/30/c... Every generated site is live for you to compare. Elad Rosenheim wrote up the full test: www.netlify.com/blog/one-pro... DeepSeek V4 Flash sat at the bottom of the price range with an average of 2.4 credits. Its best run holds up against mid-tier closed models.
Claude Opus 5 averaged 519 credits and built the richest design of the batch. GPT 5.6 Terra averaged 39 and designed in its own visual language instead of imitating anyone.
We ran one prompt through 11 AI models on Netlify and deployed all 33 results as live sites. The brief was a one-page coffee shop site. It cost 1.3 credits with one model and 1,055 with another.

voidzero.dev/posts/whats-... Our engineering and design team has been testing 26+ side-by-side comparisons across frontier and open models. All runs are public and open source. Benchmark for this demo here:
github.com/CommandCode... Tested FlappyBench with Grok 4.6, GPT-5.6 Sol, and Opus 5.
3 frontier models. Same prompt with /design command.
Scored on gameplay features, UX/UI, and cost.
🔹 Grok 4.6 → 9.5/10 · $0.095
🔹 GPT-5.6 Sol → 9/10 · $0.150
🔹 Opus 5 → 9/10 · $0.253
Grok 4.6 gave best output with lowest cost. sameeee! feels good every time
