and the answer that i've gotten from friends and inferred from these experiences is something like collective power, communities, co-ops, etc. and i saw this a bit - nodding toward collectively-owned ai or training data. i find this very vague/frustrating/hand-wavy personally.
the rorty theory (from achieving our country) tells of a 1960s shift from big-tent socialism to a narrow radical marxism that is pretty uninterested in our current government. that really plays out imho, in the disinterest in using policy to achieve ends. and it begs the question of "where power is"
- the level of discourse was sometimes frustratingly thin, on economics / zoning / copyright / etc - i will avoid generalizing from this event, because dsa != people who show up != leftists != voters != socialist-aligned politicians
brief notes: - most panelists and the audience were focused on abolishing ai and datacenters - the tax policy (which i love) got a lot of probing questions, which were expertly answered - rorty's theory that post-1960s socialism is an anti-government libertarian movement continues to be correct

The questions are lightweight, and you can ignore them. Answer the ones you care about and skip the rest. Skip all of them, and the agent makes the call itself and keeps building.
